The establishment of Crescent School in 1991 was a reward from Allah sought by a handful of dedicated Muslim brothers and sisters and their supporters, who, being aware of the tremendous need for such an institution, undertook to make their dream a reality.

Alhamdulillah, it was also a blessing for so many concerned parents who were desperately looking for an alternative to secular public education, or private schools whose curriculums differed with their beliefs, motivations and orientation.

Since its formation, the New York State Department of Education, has chartered Crescent School. The first location utilized by the school was the Islamic Center of Long Island facility in Westbury, NY.  After a long and successful struggle, the school moved to its permanent home in Hempstead, New York, in 2003.

Today in its 31st year, Crescent School continues to serve the parents of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds who wish to give their children the best academic and Islamic education available.  The school has been intentionally designed to instill in the students the universality of Islam and its application in real social and academic concerns.
